Chapter 2
What is the Meaning of Life?
Consciousness and Reaction or Consciousness and Choice
The meaning of life in its most basic form consists of the importance of the outcome of consciousness and reaction. One comes into consciousness from nonconsciousness, not only from birth but also a birth of consciousness. One resides in a state of consciousness for awhile, and then once again becomes unconscious. We can refer to birth, life and death as well as unawareness, awareness and loss of awareness. The most important objective in life is to develop one’s consciousness during the short period that one has, and more importantly, realizes the potential of it. It cannot be overstated that the consciousness that we are referring to is not just of one’s life. More importantly, the awakening of one’s mind and the consequential effort that one chooses to pour forth into the development of the highest and most serving objective consciousness they can possibly attain is paramount. Being able to trust that one has made the right choice after reviewing their conscious insights is the highest level of action that one will ever take. At the point of highest consciousness, the ultimate most important choice must be made by the individual. One must choose what he believes and what that will mean for him and then act on that full conscious realization accordingly with all of one's ability and energy for the duration of the consciousness period. The ultimate responsibility for the development of all the tools necessary to provide the highest possible choice lies with each individual consciousness.
This one chance to make a decision that brings forth an outcome fulfills the ultimate purpose of the consciousness. Compared to the infinite, the decision may appear as nothing significant; but the importance of possible ongoing ramifications to the individual, based on the conscious choice, should be the most inspirational call to action that a consciousness is capable of. The idea that an infinite outcome can be derived from a decision made from a non-infinite state of existence requires a choice. Resistance or attempt at dismissal that this choice must be made constitutes the single most important problem of life, and all problems that mankind encounters can be traced back to the manifestation of real-life issues derived from the requirement of this choice brought to you through consciousness.
Since ideas never die, let's look at one idea that has probably been floating around in human society since the dawn of time. The idea that there is some type of ramification that may exist after life, based on what one does during life, is probably the most powerful thing an individual will ever consider during their entire life. To be fair, the idea could be complete myth; but to dismiss it away before one's consciousness is fully developed would be shortsighted. Finding one's self fooled into believing that one’s consciousness is developed enough to make a proper choice when it may not be, can result in dismissal of important possibilities. The consciousness may not have been fully developed but only serving to deceive the individual. This can unknowingly be accomplished by either one’s own doing or another's. Making the wrong choice would be the worst thing that could possibly happen to an individual if the idea of some type of ramification after life for what one does in life were to turn out to be true. We would not know until we get there, but what measure of preparedness and direction should we choose to utilize in answering this question and exercise in our lifetime? This concept is something to meditate on every single day of one’s life and attempt to raise the consciousness as high as it could possibly go before making the final choice. The importance of this idea being foremost in the mind of any individual can simply not be understated as it constitutes the cornerstone of the meaning of life.
