Dragon Con 2005/ The Bat Begins and The Cat Returns

The debut of my new generic Begins armor

This generic full frontal facade is finally finished. It has no bat symbol and is originally styled.
I make generic glove fins to beef up the overall generic hero suit look.
I make generic capes out of fabric or latex. Capes are fun to wear and help you to not need to finish the back of the suit so it can be cool breathable spandex. You can costume in comfort and still look like you are wearing all rubber as seen here.
Dressing as a generic but recognizable hero is fun by itself and the public really responds.
Furthermore, hanging out with a special friend completes the experience. If that friend just happens to look and dress like a familiar feline character than all the better.
Watch those claws. Good thing for bat armor.
You can be fussy if you want but I say any generic boots will do.
I have a real metal belt and I enjoy that aspect very much though plastic is available readily.
I personally made these generic gloves and you can too. Take a pair of motorcycle gloves and sew on long guantlets.
Walking around Sunday morning looking for my numerous costuming buddies but not many around. Guess everyone had too much fun the night before. The gang are all sleeping. Except for Jonathan. Johnathan- You ain't having enough fun I guess buddy.
Thi middle pic is a good shot of the facade detail. This was the first pull. I expect to get better at it.
This cat likes to play and the spectators never seem to mind.
We also went around as the Mummy gang to and thought the Mummy would scare the kids, nope. The bat did a bit though but not the cat. Still most were wanting to meet them anyway.
